Review at Mascara Literary Review

Mascara’s seventh issue is live today and my review of Franz Wright‘s spoken collection, Readings from the Wheeling Motel,  is included!

Very excited to see it published – it’s my first serious review and it was quite a challenge, even a little daunting. Big thanks to the editors, especially Michelle Cahill. And don’t forget to check out all the other great work, from fiction and essay, review and poetry!

And lastly, if you aren’t familiar with Franz Wright and have the chance to pick up some of his work, I definitely recomend it.

  1. amazing review ashley. waltham is a unique town, a suburb of boston, with a vital arts community and about one hour northwest of here, cape cod. so he is a well loved poet in these parts and his work is amazing. your review has, in so many ways, the sensitivity, the understanding, the words that awaken fresh insight, great work!

    • Wow, thanks, tipota! That’s a relief to hear, because as I said before, it was my first proper shot at a review and they are kinda so very, very hard!

I’ve definitely got to get some more of his work too
