eastern avenue

First published on the Collected Works poetry & ideas blog, here’s a short poem from 2008!

eastern avenue

moon’s hangover
hits the street in a splash of white,
outside the window
the transformer
is like a gargoyle, sitting
halfway up the electricity pole,
either too old
or too lazy to climb higher.
